Solo Game Development and Game Narrative in Unreal Engine 5 –

April 2022-March 2023

Over the course of a year, I created a small game for the purpose of researching the Unreal Engine and game narrative. Production started in Unreal engine 4 but moved to Unreal Engine 5 when available. The game, Rolly Stories, follows a robot’s attempt to escape a post-apocalyptic junkyard. The game is currently in playtesting with a copy available upon request. The game can be found on my itch.io (https://littlebropanda.itch.io/rolly-stories)

Key Accomplishments

• Implementing all the play character’s mechanics as well as a basic AI for every non player character.
• Integrating the players heads up display as well as the game’s beginning and pause menu.
